Understanding what forgiveness really means

If forgiveness is the end of resentment, then it means no longer demanding that reality be different than it is.

It doesn't mean we approve of what happened. It doesn't mean we forget. It doesn't mean we allow it to happen again.

It simply means we stop fighting with the past.

The Freedom in Forgiveness

Forgiveness is not for them—it's for us. It's the decision to stop carrying the weight of resentment.

When we forgive, we free ourselves from the prison of the past and open to the possibility of the present.
